Acid Roman

The Acid Roman is the most labor intensive piece in the collection and maybe the most stunning.  The Image is transferred to the recycled aluminum dial and then it is immersed in acid.  The entire dial is etched away, leaving the image slightly raised.  A corrosion accelerant is applied to the heated dial to give the blackened appearance.  The numerals are polished by hand to reveal the brightened aluminum.  The result is a high contrast, highly legible effect.  The feeling of decay gives this piece a vintage feel.  The hand made piece feels ancient.

The highly polished, heat blued hands shine bright and add to the vintage aesthetic.  

Inside ticks a Seagull movement that is a modified design of the Unitas 6498.  The movement is regulated by Respektiv to provide robust, dependable and affordable timekeeping.  

The 44mm case is solid 316L Stainless steel with a stunning coin edge bezel.  Scratch resistant mineral glass covers the front and the back.  The alligator grain leather strap with a black butterfly deployment clasp finishes off the build.
